The dynasty of Portolano originated in Naples at the end of ‘800 with Fortunato Portolano. The eldest son Alberto with a great spirit of entrepreneurship, transforms the handicraft company of his father in a commercial structure well organized and with full cycle : leather tannery, glove factory and shops. His sons continue this activity, now well prosperous and one of them , Fortunato in the ’40 moved to Milano to deal with export of skins and gloves.　At the end of the ’70 his son Alberto succeeded, so it is born Alpo company with offices and show room in Milan and production in Inverigo. So, machineries are updated and production is oriented towards more qualified items.
